You can Download the National Health Mission PDF from the given download button at the end of this post. The National Health Mission (NHM) is comprised of two Sub-Missions, the National Rural Health Mission (NRHM) and the National Urban Health Mission (NUHM).
Its main focus areas include strengthening health systems, improving reproductive, maternal, neonatal, child, and adolescent health (RMNCH+A), and addressing communicable and non-communicable diseases. The NHM aims to ensure universal access to affordable, equitable, and high-quality healthcare services that are responsive and accountable to people’s needs.
The Cabinet approved the continuation of the NHM from 1st April 2017 to 31st March 2020 with budgetary support of Rs. 85,217 crores (Rupees Eighty-Five Thousand Two Hundred Seventeen crore only) as the central share. The NHM fund-sharing pattern is 60:40 between the Central Government and most of the States and Union Territories (UTs) with Legislatures (Delhi & Puducherry).
However, for the states of Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and the North-Eastern states including Sikkim, the sharing pattern is 90:10 between the Central Government and the States. For UTs without Legislatures, the funding pattern is 100% Central Share.
