Lakshmi (Lakhir) Bhandar Scheme 2023 Benefits

• The “Lakshmi Bhandar” scheme aims to provide income to women in rural and urban households enrolled under “Swaysthyasathi”.
• Financial assistance will be directly transferred to the Aadhaar-linked bank account of eligible female members.
• The scheme aims to help 1.6 crores of poor families, including those belonging to general, SC, and ST categories.
• SC and ST families will receive Rs. 1000 per month, totaling Rs. 12,000 per year under the “Lakshmi Bhandar Prakalpa Yojana”.
• The scheme will cover nearly 10% to 20% of the monthly expenditure of beneficiaries.
• The total budget for the scheme is Rs. 12900 crores.
• Women from the general category will receive Rs. 500 per month from 1st September.

Eligibility Criteria for Lakshmi (Lakhir) Bhandar Scheme 2023

• To be eligible for this scheme, a household must be enrolled under “Swathyasath” and meet the eligibility criteria.
• All female members of the household will receive the benefit if they meet the following criteria:
  • They are residents of West Bengal.
  • They are not permanent or retired government employees of the Central State Government, Statutory Bodies, Government Undertakings, Panchayats, Municipal Corporations Municipalities, Local Bodies, teaching and non-teaching employees of Government aided Educational Institutions, etc receiving regular salaries/pensions.
  • They are between 25 and 65 years old.
• Scheduled caste and Scheduled Tribes families will receive Rs. 1000 per month under the scheme.
• Casual workers in the state are also eligible for benefits under the scheme.
• Only applicants who belong to West Bengal are eligible for the scheme.
