Recently, the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs, chaired by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, approved the new Central Sector Scheme “PM Vishwakarma” with a financial outlay of Rs. 13,000 crore.
The scheme’s primary objectives are to strengthen and nurture the traditional skills of artisans and craftspeople, promoting the Guru-Shishya parampara or family-based practice.
It also aims to enhance the quality and reach of its products and services while ensuring their integration into domestic and global value chains.
